Sesame Street Live

This weekend we took Addison to see Sesame Street Live: Healthy Heroes! This was such a fun show. We had great seats and the excitement and awe in Addison's face was so worth it! The look that she gave when they first came on, to seeing Elmo for the first time was priceless. I thought I would share a couple of our videos(sorry they are not great) and pictures.

Blue Mine

Meet the new member of our family, Blue Mine.

Last week, while doing our very frequent visits to Pet Smart, Nana was with us. We were walking over to look at the fish and she happened to say, "Addison, would you like to have to fish?" Well, for the rest of the week, Addison has been saying, "Nana you forgot to get my fish." or "Nana can we go get my fish today?" So, we promised Addison that if she was a good girl and listened to us Sunday during the day that we would go and get her a fish. Nana got her a blue beta fish and when we asked Addison what she wanted to name it, she said " blue...mine..Blue Mine is his name" So, we have a new pet named Blue Mine. I just pray that this fish survives. Thomas and I have never really done fish before so it should be a new experience!

It's looking a little gray

Well, as many of you know that last Spring Break while visiting our buddies in Dallas, Addison chipped her tooth (blogged here).  I have had a lot of personal issues (Thomas does not have any) accepting that that is the tooth my daughter will have for the next 4 or 5 years until she loses it for her adult tooth. The pictures, her beautiful silly smile will always show a large chip along with her gap she already has. When it happened we made sure to ask our pediatrician about what to do and if we needed to be concerned and since there was no pain or sensitivity involved afterward there really was no need to take her to the dentist. We have gone a year with no problems and no complaints by Addison, up until now.

We were putting her to bed 2 weekends ago and we noticed that her tooth was in the gray shade, which it had never been before (I am very observant about that tooth, because I look at it all the time), never had it been that color. We thought that it might have been the icing that Addison had from a birthday she had gone to that night and prayed that by the next day we would notice a change in the color. Well, it did not.  To me it continues to get a little darker every day. I have been freaking out, a little bit vocally, and a whole whole lot internally.  I do not want my daughter to be the girl with the gray tooth! Thomas does not think it looks that bad, but I think it is just horrible.

While at Addison's music classes, I decided to ask one of the other moms that waits for her children, who by luck is a Dentist. She shared that blood can travel down into the tooth over time and unless there is pain and the look of a pimple above the tooth in the gum line to not be concerned and that there are many kids that have this happen.  Well, that put my mind at ease a little bit and I have been watching her gum area everyday! I thought we were doing okay and I had read a couple things online and thought, here we go with another cosmetic issues, I can get over this.  Well, today she complained that her front tooth was hurting her and she pointed to the "bad" tooth. Oh man, so now I am on a mission to get an appointment with one of our really great pediatric dentists and hope that there is nothing major to be worried about. My other mission is to make myself stop freaking out about her tooth and not worry about this small cosmetic issue..4 years with a gray tooth...ugh!

Spring Break

Well, this week we had our wonderful and extremely enjoyable Spring Break. We were not able to take a trip somewhere like we have normally done in years past, because of all the lovely school work that Thomas has had.  It was a great opportunity for him to catch up on some reading and try and get ahead for the following week. He also had to continue with his job at the Honors College, no Spring Break for Tech employees...boo. So, while he was off being productive, Addison and I had some fun!

This whole week, Addison has blessed us with a 7-8:00 wake up call rather than 6:30.  It was glorious! I hope that this will be the case when summer rolls around. As for the events of our Spring Break, we took the pups to the vet, we went to the Science Spectrum, Safety City to practice our trike riding, Holly Hops Ice Cream shop, the Mud Room for some pottery painting, a lunch date with Daddy at Home Cafe' and lots and lots of time playing in the backyard and trike riding up and down our street.  We also had a day with Daddy on Thursday.  He took off to spend one day at home with us.  It was a story time day.  We went to the library and checked out some new books and went to story time which was about Gardens.  Addison was very involved and loved it! We also went to the Texas Tech Museum that evening to go to Bedtime at the Museum: How Dinosaurs Say Goodnight. Addison was able to look at fossils and listen to the dinosaur book on a nap mat in the middle of the dinosaur exhibits, go in the back and make a very large dinosaur head, and have an M & M cookie (her fav!!) and apple juice dinosaur snack.  WE LOVED THIS! It will become a Reynolds monthly activity.

To end our Spring Break, we have been able to spend Saturday and Sunday with Nana and Poppa.  Addison ,of course, has loved this! She also was able to go to one of her really good buddies' (from school) birthday party at Jump N' Jungle.  I do not want this week to end.  It is so hard to have such a great week and end it to go back to work. Summer needs to come quick, quick, quick!

Take a gander at the pics if you would like!

ABC book

I wanted to share this neat idea I came across to make for Addison.  It is an ABC book that is made with random photos from the time Addison was born up until now.  I wanted to give Addison something special for her Valentine's gift that was homemade, educational, and something that she would connect with.  She has been really into the alphabet and this was a great way to extend her learning skills to pictures of herself with letters.  All you need to do is pick some of your favorites pictures that you can add a word to for a letter and print the words on it (photoshop or picnik) and take it to Walgreens or Walmart to print. Then buy a cheap photo album, I found Addison's for 3 dollars at Walmart, and add a cover to it (I used my cricut to make one) and slip in the photos! TaaDaa!! I am really proud of it and I think it is a great keep sake!

Let's build a car

Well, we took Addison to another one of the first Saturday of the month Home Depot Kids Workshop.  This month they were building a race car.  There is not much to say other then the fact that she truly enjoys getting out and getting involved in activities and that I wanted to share our photos!! Again, go and check out our picasa website to see the photos.

We did it!

A Little note of excitement!!! Addison is officially riding her tricycle.  We have taken a ride around the block two days in a row with zero help from mommy.  YAY!!  I am so proud of her and so glad that we are done with that frustration, but there is something new to tackle everyday...I wonder what will be next.  Oh Yea, night time with panties!!
