American Girl

After ice skating at the mall, we took Addison over to the American Girl Doll Store and mom surprised her by letting Addison take her doll to the salon to get her "hair did"! She loved it. We scheduled an appointment and while we waited for 30 minutes, her doll was able to hang out in doll daycare. We shopped around and discovered the bistro that we are going to take her to for Spring Break. This store is so elaborate and so exciting for Addison and I am so glad we have had the opportunity to take her there. The hair do ended up being very cute and, crazy enough, it still looks wonderful. Addison has been very careful with her to make sure that the hair does not get messed up.

Ice Skating

While we were in Houston after Christmas, we took a trip to the mall to give Addison her first ice skating experience. I have not been ice skating since we lived in Canada and frankly I was quite worried for myself. Thomas was not going to attempt it with us, too chicken I guess! Everything ended up going very well, Addison did fall several times, but was a trooper and got right back up and went for it again and again. Luckily, I was there to help lighten the hit, and she only took me down once. We had lots of laughs and it was so much fun for her and I! We both love it!

Christmas in Midland

Christmas this year was a little difficult for us as a family, but we made it through with some good memories to share!
We spent our Christmas in Midland with lots of wonderful family, friends, karaoke machines, gingerbread houses, potty training, yummy food, and reindeer food with Santa cookies.

Santa Land 2013

Before we headed off for the holiday we went over to Santa Land. The kids had such a great time looking at all the lights and all of the characters that various artists had drawn to decorate the park. It was beautiful night to go and the kids enjoys running around, dancing to the music, and sitting by the fire. Love love love our holiday traditions!

Christms Recital 2013

This year, Addison was able to be apart of the annual Christmas Recital that the Dance Gallery puts on. Once you are in Kindergarten the girls are allowed to dance in it. The dance recital is not meant as a serious recital as it is in May, but a fun way to start your Christmas holiday. The girls are given the routine 4 weeks before the performance to a Christmas song and the costumes are christmas items that Mrs. Carla has saved in her closet over the years. Addison literally was wearing a mini tree shirt on her shoulders and women's knee high socks. I was very skeptical about it, but all the girls looked too cute! The instructors sit at the bottom of the stage to show the girls the hand movements, since they do not have much time to learn the dance, but I think Addison's class did amazing and did not even need the instructors help. We have a really great class this year, of girls that are really energetic, happy, and excited about dancing! Take a look at how they did...Addison is 4th on the right (crazy enough..she is no longer one of the tallest in the class...she is slowing down on that length, although her pants don't tell the same story)

Avett was not interested in Santa this time, poor Mrs. Claus!

Christmas Party for Avett

On the last day before the holiday, Avett had a fun day at Kids Kingdom! He started with a visit from Santa. Santa brought Avett and all his friends a special gift, Avett got a musical book (his favorite). Later that day, all of the kids got to have lots of yummy sweets and other food for a party. All they did was eat, steal others friends food to eat, and get up and down...a typical toddler party. It was very cute and I am so glad I was off in the afternoon to be there for it!
