Weekend Fun

We had a nice weekend in Midland and it ended with a good Memorial Day at home. We went to Midland for Reba's Graduation. Addison had a wonderful time playing with her cousin Hayden in the swimming pool and throughout the weekend. On Monday, we pulled out Addison's swimming pool and she had some fun with Nana! We had our first watermelon of the season, as well! YUMMY! Lastly, is a great picture of my mom!! LOL!

Big Girl Bed

On Sunday night, Addison's crib was transformed into her toddler day bed.  She was very excited about it and we have been talking about it all weekend.  There really hasn't been a reason to take her out of her crib, she does not try to crawl out of it and she does a great job in there.  We just thought it was a good time to try and transition her into this new stage of sleeping with mommy being at home for the summer.  She slept awesome all night!! At 5:45, we heard a loud scream and a, "MOMMY" calling.  She had fallen out of her bed, but was perfectly fine. She crawled back up in bed and was quickly back to sleep until her normal 7:00 wake up time! For nap today and tonight when going to bed, she was not interested in sleeping on the pillow, but that doesn't really surprise me, she has never slept on a pillow before and it is probably uncomfortable.  Here are a couple pictures to show off the big girl in her old and improved bed!

Change of Schools Update

I am no longer going to Jackson Elementary in the East side of Lubbock.  I will now be going over to Preston Smith Elementary which is on the south west side of town.  I will be the only pre-k teacher from Martin coming to Smith.  There will be 2 pre-k teachers from Mahon and 1 from Stubbs.  It will be a whole new group of pre-k teachers to group up with.  I am not to excited about being without my friends and co-teachers, but I will make new friends with these teachers.  I am excited about being at Smith.  It is a really great school to be as a teacher and to be for Addison.  I will get to take Addison there for pre-k up to 5th grade! That will be so great!  Some other pluses for this school include getting to keep 3 of my kids from my class this year, because I will be in there district, I will get to continue the STAR program with these kiddos, and I get to stay with my 2 amazing TAs.  It is closer to the house, but I will still have to drive across town to pick up Addison from daycare.
For the moment we are enjoying these last couple days at Martin and we are working hard to get our room packed up by June 1.  We are at least half way there with the packing, and we have 4 days left to get it done! We can do it!

I look forward to this summer and ending this school year, but I am really sad to leave my school and the wonderful friends that I have made! I love my Martin family and I will miss them terribly!

Happy Birthday Addison!

The first picture in the hospital! I was just starting the induction.
There you are!!! Addison Ray Reynolds
You were covered in poop and not a happy camper, but you were so healthy and we were so happy to finally meet you!

Well Addison turned 2 on May 7. We have begged her to slow down, just a little, but it has been a "no go"! She has zoomed right up to this second birthday.
We have enjoyed every moment with our sweet Addison.  From the first nights home when Daddy would do his little bouncing dance to get you to sleep.  The first time I held you in my arms.  The first time you smiled at us.  The first night that you slept in your crib and Mommy was a nervous wreck! Watching Baby Signing Time and seeing how smart you are to begin signing with us.  Watching you work so hard on crawling and walking, your gross motor skills were so tough on you! Watching you love on Finn and Mally and saying "dog" as your first word. The way you smell when you get out of the bath. Hearing you say, "Mama, Daddy, Come Here!" when you want us to get you out of your crib. The joy on your faee when you learn something new! The way your imagination works when you are playing.  And on and on and on....The morning you came into our world, we instantly fell in love!

You are growing beautifully and wonderfully. We are so in love with your silly smile, your chipped tooth, blonde curly hair, your large vocabulary, your pokerface dance.  My sweet girl, we hope one day we can describe the depth of love we have for you. We hope one day we can show you how proud we are of you and how proud we are to be your mommy and daddy.

We love you! Happy 2nd Birthday
Much Love, The Reynolds

PS. We have birthday photos on our picasa website! Check them out!!! We had such a fun time! It was an OWL party.

Addison's 2nd birthday at school

On Addison's birthday we wanted to celebrate with some cupcakes for her classmates at school. I am sure the teachers really appreciated having 20 2 year olds with frosting! It was quite interesting to see the different reactions of these kiddos to non school snack foods. Some were very excited about the cupcakes and others were in awe or horror of messy frosting!! Addison really enjoyed the cupcake, as you can tell! She ate the entire cupcake and we were happy to share that little birthday moment with her and her friends!

Gardening and Worm Hunting

This weekend we worked in our garden to make it nice, clean, and of course, beautiful for Addison's party on Saturday. Addison was very happy to be involved and get her hands dirty with the gardening. She put on her Hello Kitty boots and had her very own gardening tools and got to work digging in the dirt and planting flowers. I think the garden turned out beautifully!!
Addison also has been busy digging in the garden to go worm hunting. She has not been very interested in touching them, but she has enjoyed looking at them and messing with them with her shoval. Well, tonight she picked it up and touched it! She very much enjoyed the worm and when it came to be bedtime, she put him back in the dirt and say goodnight and patted him to go to sleep.

Swing Set!

For Addison's 2nd birthday Nana/Poppa and Mia/Pop got together to get Addison a wonderful swing set! It took Daddy and Pop 2 days during the weekend to put it together. Addison has fallen in love and would enjoy spending the entire day outside on her slide.
Thank you so much to both sets of grandparents for the wonderful birthday present!
Much Love,
