Christmas Party

Now that we are back from the rush of Christmas, I can catch everyone up on all of the fun that we have had for our Christmas celebrations. On the last day of school for Addison and I, she had her Christmas party with her friends at school. The party consisted of a bunch of toddlers, sitting on their benches in the Cafe, eating, making a mess, and trying to make them stay seated. They also did a $5 book exchange which is always a great thing for Addison...she is a book-aholic!! The book she received was a Cars board book (she was not too excited about that one, oh well). After the party, mommy and Addison went to the park to wear off some of the sugar energy from all the party food. All of the Canadian geese were flying in to Lubbock and seemed to congregate at the park that we were at and she loved it. There was a couple that let us have some of their bread to feed the birds and I was trying very hard to be brave so that my daughter would not be scared...but that was not a success. She jumped straight into my arms and made me feed them by myself. Oh well...we still had fun!

Count on me!

Addison continues to surprise everyday!!! Counting is her newest skill that she has picked up. She wants to count anything that has multiple objects: buttons, the little Christmas trees outside, objects in books, etc. She is skipping one and going straight to 2 and will count all the way to 10, but she will skip 9. She did not count all the way to 10 on the video, but I promise she does it!! LOL. Also, she becomes camera shy every time I want to show off her talents. I can never get the full deal! Oh well, we are so proud of our smart girl and can't believe how fast she is growing!

Reynolds Family Drive-In

This weekend we decided to put together one of Addison's Christmas gifts from us, because we did not want to haul it to Midland with all of the other many gifts and things that are needing to go in the car. We bought her a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. She was very excited and continually said, "excited!" while marching around and waving her arms!! It was extremely hard for her to wait while Daddy put it together. She would continually climb in the car and then we would have to remove her to add on another piece of the car and it made her very frustrated that she could not just start playing with her new gift. Once Thomas finally put it together she jumped right in and we have not been able to get her out of it!! She has been climbing in and out of it, she has been saying, "car, driving", "keys", and she has been just sitting in it! The funniest thing I think is the fact that this morning when she was watching her morning cartoons, it was her chair. She sat with her milk in the car and watched, "Max and Ruby". It was her own little drive-in.

Santa and the minis

This year we have not had a good opportunity to have Addison take a picture with Santa. She took one last year at her school, but they did not do that this year. We were going to do it at Santa Land , but the line was HUGE! We both refuse to take her to the mall, because we just do not have the money to spend on those. Soooo...what were we going to do? I really felt that she needed to have some sort of Santa encounter where I could photograph her to save it for scrapbook usage!! I saw on the news that the local organization of theraputic mini horses were going to be out at our grocery store down the street raising money by taking pictures with the horses and Santa..PERFECT!! It would be for a good cause and we would get a Santa picture. We had been talking Santa up all day in hopes that by the time we got there she would not be scared and the little outing would be great!!! She was excited before and when we walked up to the horses and Santa. She screamed for both! This was going to be good. I was keeping my fingers crossed for the picture. Take a look....

As you can tell on her face, she was not a fan!!! We started with just her with Santa and she became very upset and she would not stay with Santa. So I thought if I got in the photo and have her sit on my lap that she would calm down. I was wrong. She started to calm down when I put her down on the ground, then the lady quickly snapped the photo. Afterwards, she quickly ran to Daddy!! Oh the fun!! Oh well, I at least got a photo and it will be something to remember always.

Holiday Weekend!

We had so much fun this past weekend. The weather had warmed up a little so we thought it would be a great opportunity to get Addison out for some of the local events that have been going on in Lubbock. We have the wonderful Ranching Heritage Center every year do a Christmas event called, "Candle light at the Ranch" They have lights lighting the walkways of the entire outdoor center to lead to the various "old timey" houses. In the houses there are people recreating the life of the era that the house is from. Many of the houses had kids from the local children's choir in it so that was a hit for Addison. She did great with the weather and absolutely wonderful waiting in the very long line to go to each house. We were there from 6:15-8:00 and we never once had a problem!!

Addison with her wondrful silly smile!!

Addison with her Daddy

On Sunday night we went to the wonderful park, MacKenzie Park where they put together a wonderful little village called SantaLand. They have it open for the next couple of weeks until the day before Christmas Eve. They have a giant Christmas tree, animated animals, different Christmas displays, bonfires, kids singing, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus. We started to wait in line to see Santa, but that would have taken 1 hour just to see him, so we decided to pass on that and just enjoy the event itself. Addison was extremely excited. She lead the way through the entire village. She screamed and shrilled in excitement. She stood in the middle of the area dancing, ran screaming "Pooh" as she saw a Christmas Winnie the pooh. WE LOVED IT! The site of our daughter fully enjoying herself and making her happy was our highlight of the night.

For The Love of Music

Addison has been so into music since I can remember! Well I wanted to share 3 of her new favorites. She loves many many songs and sings all of the time: Baby Bumble Bee, Row Row Row, ABC's, Wheels on the Bus, It's Raining, etc. I wanted to show you a couple of songs that Addy has really enjoyed in the past couple of days/weeks. The first one they play on Nick Jr. and on one of her favorites shows, "Jack's Big Music Show". She will go around and say heart and want us to sing it for her. The second and third one are songs/videos that the kids in her school are dancing to when I walk in to pick her up. They have music time after their snack and sometimes they have kids music videos on and sometimes they just have a CD on, either way they are having blast dancing!

Relax and Enjoy!

We had a wonderful weekend in Fredericksburg! We were Addison free which was a little hard on us, primarily me, but we did good. We enjoyed the house that we stayed in especially! We would recommend it to anyone. We were able to sleep as long as we wanted to, which was til 7:30...no more sleeping in says our bodies!! We were able to have a nap everyday and we were able to have a meal without constantly talking to our sweet girl saying, "You want to try..?" "Sit down." "Keep it on the plate." and more. Overall, it was just nice for the two of us to be together and have some time to celebrate being husband and wife for 4 years.

This Time Last Year!

This picture was taken November 7, 2008. Addison was 6 months old (1/2 a year old). The picture below was taken today. November 6, 2009. Addison will be 18 months old (1 1/2 years old). It is so crazy how she has grown so much!!!! We went to her 18 month check up today and she is doing really well. She is 33 inches long ( 90th percentile in height..TALL GIRL!) and she is 23 lbs (30th percentile in weight...Dr. says she is healthy though and the weight is good). We also did an autism screening, which she obviously passed. We then went to the lab and had to have blood drawn so that they could check to make sure all is good there.
We are so proud of our sweet girl! We think she is just the smartest and most beautiful baby EVER and we are so proud that she is ours.

Happy 1 1/2 year Birthday!!
Love you!
Mommy and Daddy

PS. We are going to get ice cream Saturday so that we can celebrate being 18 months and our 4 year anniversary. Ice Cream..here we come! :-)

Halloween Party

Addison had a Halloween party at her school and she is really enjoyed herself. She did not dress in a costume because I am a control freak and I was too worried that it would get too messy from treats and/or it would get damaged while playing throughout the day. She had lots of yummy treats for her party and her afternoon teacher, Ms. Beatrice was a clown and made balloon animals. She made Addison a sword (which she took and started hitting mommy with) and a butterfly! She loved it!

Rock and Roll Baby!!

Addison loves music and we truly were able to see just how much she loves music when we went to Houston this weekend. She loved playing on NaNa and Grandpa's piano! Obviously, you can tell from the video that she was very excited about it. Also, we went to my brother's celebration in Huntsville and they had a band called, Secondhand Rose. They were actually pretty good! When Addison was not chasing their golden lab, Maverick, she was standing by the stage dancing and watching them intently as they played their instruments (specifically the guitar and the drums). We hope that she continues to enjoy music and that she can be involved in this in some way as she gets older!
