New accessories!

School is just around the corner and Addison is starting a brand new school! She is going to be big girl in the 3 year old program from 8-3:30 5 days a week at All Saints Episcopal School. We are so excited to put her in such a great program! In the last several months we have been slowly doing everything needed for her to get ready. My mom made her an amazing nap mat! We found a pattern online, found some awesome material at an online fabric store, and off she went. She was not completely happy with it, but everyone else just thinks it is amazing! Thomas and I got her a brand new lunch box with all the tupperware holders. She picked out the lunch box to match her placemat that she has on the table. Lastly, we got her new tote that she has to carry to school. We do not get to use a backpack and that is a bummer, but we got her name put on the tote and she is happy about. We are soon going to have her uniforms and we we will be getting shoes! SOO excited for the start of this new school year for her!

Houston Day 5

The last day in Houston was full of fun and excitement!! We started out the day at the Children's museum. Addison loved it and really enjoyed exploring. They had a great city called Kidtropolis where the the kids could have jobs such as a repair man, vet, chef, grocer, waitress, etc. This was a such a great activity and she would have stayed in there forever. They also had quite a bit of hands on science exhibits for the girls to look at. The museum also had a great water play area outside for the kids to play in. What fun! We will definitely be heading there again to spend more time there.
Later in the afternoon was the big treat! My parents got Addison and Lily tickets to see The Wiggles. It was so hard for me to not tell Addison about this big surprise, I actually let it spill earlier in the week but she did not hear me. When we walked into the theater she sill did not know what was going on and then when we were going to find our seats she heard the music and said, "The Wiggles, The Wiggles are here!" She and Lily had a BLAST. Lily was twisting and jumping around like crazy and Addison was singing and starring in Awe!! LOVED IT! Thank you mom and dad for a great gift for the girls!
We had such a great time in Houston and I am so glad we were able to do this! I really enjoyed having some Addison Mommy time, but we are so glad that to be home with our Daddy! We missed him sooo much!

Houston Day 4

On Friday, the whole family headed out of town to Oil Ranch. This was a great place for farm animal lovers! We started with Daisy the milking cow. We all had the opportunity to feed her and one of her calves, and then they asked us if we would like to milk her. Mom and I tried, and I succeeded!! Addison started to reach in to milk her and then ran backward in a "forget this" sort of way. She decided it wasn't worth reaching her itty bitty hand underneath this mammoth cow! haha We then headed over for a horseback ride. I was a little upset at the length of time that they gave her. There was no one around and they only let her go around one time. It literally lasted about 2 minutes, she loved it but I wanted more for her. We then feed goats, donkeys, and sheep. We rode a train around the backside of the ranch, walked over to another feeding area with very friends goats, and then headed back to ride on the hayride. The hayride, to me, was the best part of this experience. We were able to feed cows and donkeys on the ride and they stuck their heads right through the grates and up into your personal space! It was soo great and Addison loved it! They had a pool for Addison and Nana to cool off in at the end. If you are ever in Houston and have kids, this is a great activity to do with them, as long as you don't mind up close and personal animal activities!
We then headed over to the outlets for a little shopping then headed home to get ready for Jeremy, Bethany, and Lily! We were all very excited to see them, especially Addison and I! We have not seen the since Lily was 6 months old and she is now 17 months. We let the girls play a little and then headed for Clays..with more animals and horseback riding! We had a great night and soo happy to see our neice/cousin.

Houston Day 3

On Thursday, Addison, Nana, and I headed downtown to check out the aquarium. It is not a very big aquarium, but it does the job for Addison. She really enjoyed looking at all the fish. They also have a touch tank with fish and manta rays, but she was too scared to touch the rays. She did touch the starfish, crabs, and some other shelled creature? They also have a white tiger there which she enjoyed watching and talking too. We then took the shark train to observe all the sharks in the water tunnel. We really enjoyed seeing that, with the sharks swimming all around us and laying right on top of us. We then headed for City Centre for some lunch at the Yardhouse! It was so great! And lastly, to Addison's surprise they had Red Mango there so it made her morning extra great!!
For dinner we headed for to one of Katy's local mexican favs, El Jarrito's! We just love the homemade tortillas! We ended with our nightly run through the sprinklers.

Houston Day 2

So on our second day in Houston, Mom, Addison, and I headed over to the zoo. We got there right when it opened and it was just perfect for us! There was not a whole lot of people there so we got to see and touch many things that people that showed up later did not get a chance to see and look at with the heat rising quickly and animals wanting to hide. We were able to go first to the children's museum and get the petting zoo all to ourselves and ride the carousel alone as well! It was great! We then headed to see the elephants. They were taking baths and we were able to see the babies and parents rolling and spraying in the water and it was a blast! We stood there for about 15 to 20 minutes just watching the elephants. They were so close to us and we got to really experience them. After the zoo we got to take a little swim in the neighbors pool and then head off to the Cheesecake Factory! DELICIOUS!!
