This is the paci graveyard or the paci hiding spot. Since we have been back from Dallas/Spring Break, Addison has been paci free. We told her the first night when she asked for it that we left it at Uncle T's and that she was going to have to be a big girl. She looked at me and said, "okay mommy" and that was it. That was it? If I knew it would have been that easy I would have done it quite a while ago. She has asked only 3 or 4 more times, but it has been an easy easy transition!! I think it has helped that she only has been able to get her paci at bedtime for the past couple of months. YAY for Addison and YAY for us!:)
For my wonderful husband!! There is no special occasion for Thomas and I, but I wanted to say how much I love my husband and how great my life is with him! I am thankful to have come to Lubbock so that we could come into each others lives!! How lucky I am to have him. I love you Thomas
ubbock is for lovers and long lost, land locked, land lubbers but as for you and me we're not afraid of the sea even with so much to discover lubbock will always be for lovers 'cause that's where I found you and that's where you found me
In this dusty Texas town I wondered what I found the first time you sat next to me I didn't believe in love at first sight but at second I just might 'cause two looks is all it took for me the white cotton fields and tireless oil drills they're all well and good for industry but as I watched this unfold I knew I'd struck gold and that I would follow you across land and sea

The bright northern lights and Himalayas' dazzling heights I'm sure they're stunning sights to see but seeing the west texas sky in the reflection of your eyes was enough to take the breath out of me from singapore to bangalore paris, new york, or DC we can go as far as our hearts may roam but if home is where the heart is I know where the start is and forever until the end, will always be

We had a little fun building/painting activity for Addison to do for her Nana and Poppa and Mia and Pop. We had Home Depot come out to our school to do a building project with all of our kids and they had extra sets of projects for us to take home. I took two home so that Addison could help out and then she could give them to the grandparents as an Easter/Anniversary gifts. The project was a bird house styled rain gauge. She enjoyed hammering but the best part for Addison was the painting. She painted the house, but then she was able to paint on the paper with her fingers and things got very messy and super fun! As you can tell from the photos she truly enjoyed herself!
Hope the grandparents enjoy their little Addison gift!! Much Love, The Reynolds
On the last day of our spring break in Dallas we went to a place called "Go Bonkers". This was soo much fun and super cheap. Addison was the most expensive at $2.50 and the adults who could get in the climbing area with the kids are only $1.00. How great is that?! This place is kind of like Discovery Zone. A huge maze of climbing equipment that you are netted in to. We went with Addison in the toddler area, but she quickly was over and done with that, so we decided to go ahead and try out the 3-104 age climbing area. We did have to definitely stay with Addison because there were tougher things to get there and many more kids in this area to push and run past. She did great though and I don't think that Addison felt overwhelmed or scared at all. The best part of the whole place was the very very slick and fast slides that were placed randomly in this huge maze. We had so much fun! Thanks Uncle T for the great idea. That is definitely a place to visit again. Trinity had to leave us to go out of town for visit that evening so for dinner we headed out with Diana, Jen, and Mike to the Macaroni Grill and then some Chick-A-Fil shakes for dessert.
We headed home Tuesday morning, with many problems, but we made it. Addison started out very very grumpy. We did okay at Einstein Bros. for breakfast. We got on the road and sat in traffic for an hour not even out of Dallas. After finally getting a move out of Dallas, Addison says she needs to go potty. We stop to let her go, after she finishes, Addison and I are walking on the sidewalk and I slip and fall. I tried really really hard to roll so that Addison would not slam her head into the concrete and in the end I bummed up my knee and elbow! We get to Abilene and have lunch at Wendy's. While we are in there, Mally decides to travel up to the front and eat all or tried to eat all of the food that we had for Addison. When Thomas gets to the car, she decides to pee all over the console and the seat because she knew Thomas was mad at her. UGH!!! We made it home though..and we were ready to rest and let Addison get back to her happy mood.
Thank you so much to the Vaughns for letting us stay at your house and letting us visit you!! Thank you also to the Keffers! We had so much fun hanging out with all of you all and we miss seeing you on a regular basis. Can't wait to hopefully see you in May.
On the second day of our spring break weekend, we started out by having breakfast at La Madeline. It was so wonderful, we love it and so wish that Lubbock would decide that we are missing out and need to bring this restaurant quickly to our town. After breakfast, we took Addison over to Toys R Us to look at their swing sets. Thomas parents and my parents are going to go in together and get Addison a play set for our backyard. We found on that we liked and that was on sale so we went ahead a made a down payment on it and we should be getting it in the next 2 weeks! Happy early birthday to Addison! Addison took a nap and then she and her entourage (Uncle T, Aunt Diana, Uncle Mike, Aunt Jen, Mommy, and Daddy) were off to the Children's Museum. This was a lot of fun and Addison really enjoyed herself! I tried to add in the best photos, but I also uploaded all of them to Picasa so that you can check them out there! For the closing of out day we went to AnaMia's, a very yummy restaurant. But, the most exciting and HORRIBLE part of the day came as we were waiting to sit down to eat. Addison and Uncle T were running outside, Addison fell, buster her lip and....wait for it....chip her tooth! UGHHHHHH!!! I want to just cry every time I look at it. She is going to have her front right tooth look like that for the next 5 to 6 years. UGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I need to get over it, but it just really bothers me right now and yea...it really really really bothers me. I want to just cry! I keep thinking about her preschool pictures and the chipped tooth smile. The kindergarten photos...I can't get over it. So there ya go, day number 2. WE have one more day to go, see you tomorrow! Much Love, The Reynolds
For the first weekend of our Spring Break, Thomas, Addison, and I took a trip over to Dallas to visit Trinity, Diana, Jen, and Mike. We took lots of pictures so I am going to break up the 3 days into different blogs. On Saturday we drove into Dallas and arrived around 1. Addison took a nap and then we off and ready to go to the park around the corner from the Vaughn's house. This is such a great park and Addison really enjoyed herself. It was especially fun because she had her entourage of fun grown-ups to play with her. Uncle T had a little bit of fun and then Aunt Jen took over and helped her around the playground. Mom played the role of paparazzi and the guys took over the traditional "Dad" role of sitting on the bench watching the kids and talking about guy stuff...aka comics. After the park we had a great dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. What a great first day for our Spring Break. On to day two.....
Today we took Addison to get her first hair cut. We have been thinking about it for weeks, but saying "no, we need to let it grow more" and "is she really needing a hair cut?" Well we decided last night that the mullet really was not the best fashion statement for a 22 month old and we needed to even out the back to make it look a little more "together". To preface this, she has been asking about getting a hair cut for some weeks now even before we mentioned her getting one. I guess she has heard mommy and daddy talking about needing/getting one themselves and she wanted to join the bandwagon. Well, because we have had all of this talk of getting hair cuts, she had no problem and was actually reall excited when she heard she was going to get one. We walked in singing a Reynolds original "the hair cut song" and she saw Ms. Anna and yelled hair cut with a great big smile. She jumped right on the booster chair and was ready to go! We saved her little mullet in an envelope to treasure forever and Addison now has a very cute mini bob! Thank you Anna for being so wonderful and thank you Addison for being such a wonderful amazing baby.
On Sunday morning, Addison did her usual screaming of "Mommy" to come and get her out of her crib. When I walked in there I was shocked to see Addison standing at the far end of her crib with no clothes on except for socks and there was a strong poopie smell in her room. I asked her what she was doing and she told me, "Mommy, change you" and looked down at her poopie diaper laying in a mess on her sheet. Her blanket and comforter were in the bed, obviously wet with urine and everything else had traces of poop on it. I must share that for the past couple of weeks Addison has been really not wanting to be in her diaper and really really wanting to be in panties! She has been very eager to tell us that her diaper needs change at home and at school. I guess she had pooped earlier in the morning and was just tired of laying it and took matters into her own hands. I was trying sooo hard not to let her see me smile, because I did not want her thinking this was "okay" to do. So after this event took place, I decided we were going to officially, unofficially start potty training. We thought we could do some potty training at home, but it was hard to officially start until Addison got into the 2 year old room at school. On Sunday Addison stayed dry from 10:00-2:00 and peed in the potty 3 times in a row! We sing a potty dance and she loves it...there are some M&Ms involved, as well! When Thomas got Addison to school this morning, she told Ms. Jessica and Ms Cynthia that we were doing this and they agreed to take Addison to the potty every once in a while. When I picked her up in the afternoon, they shared that she was going to be in the 2 year old room starting tomorrow and to bring pull-ups! Oh WOW!! This is really starting! We can't believe it. Addison and I went to target today and bought some Dora pull-ups and she is very excited about them. Tonight she went potty 2 times in a row and stayed dry from 6:30-7:45. YAY for our girl! We hope this will be an easy road for us and for Addison. Addison on Sunday-1st day on the job!!
Last week, we kept Addison home from school because she had a small fever and a yucky cough. We did alot of snuggling and it quickly got old for Addison. She needed som movement and activity for a little bit. I had saved some bananas for some bread, so I decided that baking would be a low key activity that would be good for her to do. After we finished we had to wash the bowl out and Addison started playing in the water. This ended up being a really fun activity for a sick little baby. She loved scooping and pouring the water, blowing the bubbles, and spraying the hose. I hope she enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed watching her! Much Love, The Reynolds
