Carving pumpkins

We carved our pumpkins on Thursday. Addison was quite excited to do so, but we quickly realized that she was not so excited about the pumpkin but the chance to slide all over our kitchen table. We ended up pretty much doing the same face as last year, but she and I enjoy doing the star eyes so that is what we did!

Do you see a reoccuring expression in Addison's face as we open up the pumpkin to reveal the "gooeys" (as we are calling them)?! It is quite funny. I thought I remembered her liking it last year, but I was wrong! All three years that we have done this have been a no go for the seeds and happy again once they are cleaned out and a face is on the pumpkin.

Pumpkin Patch

We were able to go to the Pumpkin Patch this year pretty early and with good weather! Last year when we visited the pumpkin patch Trinity and the Reynolds' about froze their bottoms off, but we were quite lucky this time. Mom had never been out to the pumpkin patch and since she was in town when it opened we took her on out. We were able to do everything pretty much by ourselves as a family since it was so early. We did the hayride, looked at the animals, and Nana and Addison did the maize train. Addy had a great time and so did Nana!

Baby Grace

The Reynolds' family went to visit the Vaughn family this last weekend so that we could meet the beautiful Baby Grace! We really enjoyed seeing her and holding her and spending time with the new mommy and daddy. Addison loved holding her too! Addison even got hurt at one point and ran upstairs and was crying with me and said " I want my baby grace!!" I thought that was too cute.
Grace we are so excited that you are here and we can't wait to spend much more time with you in the future and know that we LOVE YOU so very much!

Terrible or Terrific?

In the past couple of months, we have gone through a roller coaster of different Addisons. She has definitely hit her Terrible Twos stage of development. She loves to be extremely independent, she loves to have everything just the way she pictures it in her sweet little head, she wants to run on her own schedule, she has selective hearing, and the tantrums are on the rise. Thomas and I have learned to have a whole new level of patience that we did not know we even had available! It has been a very tough change for us. But through all of the hard times that we have been experiencing lately, our little girl has grown up so much and has made us extremely proud. She is so so so so smart, we can not believe how artistically talented she has become, she is very polite, enjoys helping around the house, she is amazingly beautiful, and she thouroughly enjoys life! With all the tough moments we may have with this thing they call the terrible twos, it is so minimal to the wonderful, exciting moments we are having with the terrific twos! We love you Addison!

South Plains Fair

Last weekend we went to the wonderful amazing Lubbock Fair!! :-) We went last year and Addison had a great time on the carousel. This year, it did not go over as well. We were able to get Addison on and riding the horse, but we had to wait about 5 minutes to get everyone on the ride. This was 5 minutes too long!! Addison decided to think about the fact that this might be something scary and started crying and would not ride. Daddy had to hold her the entire time. Once off of the carousel, we were able to convince her to do a ride on a fire truck and the train. Those rides went off much much better!
We of course had to eat the fair food. Thomas had a corn dog and Addison and I shared a funnel cake. YUMMY!
Last stop at the fair were the animals. Of course, this is Addison's favorite thing in the whole world. We saw lots of cows, birds, sheep, and goats. There were lots of Addison animal noises going on, as well. TOO CUTE!
