American Girl Bistro

For Spring break we headed down to Houston for a couple days so we could take the kids to fun things that we do not have in Lubbock and to see our sweet niece, Lily. On the first day the Mommies and Nana took Addison and Lily to the American Girl Store where they have a Bistro. We have had a reservation for the past 2 months and the girls were very excited to bring their dolls to lunch with them. The dolls had their own high chair next to the girls and they were able to have their own cup and saucer to drink from. The food was perfect for little girls and for mommies that are not wanting to eat a whole lot! Their napkin holders were ponytail holders that we were able to take home for dolly/girl use. We also were able to have a yummy trio dessert for the girls to enjoy. It is an absolutely perfect place to take your little girl and the imagination just runs wild while they are there. We loved it. Nana even bought the dolls matching swim suits when we were done in the Bistro. The hanging doll is showing that Addison was able to go potty while her dolly hung out in the stall next to her and then we had a fun time strolling the mall while the girls sang "Firework" by Katy Perry. Fun times...Thanks Nana, Bethany, and Lily for making these Reynolds girls happy campers. PS. The boys had a good time too. Avett, Thomas, Poppa, Jeremy and his friend Stephen all had a great lunch and hung out at the comic book store.

First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

A couple of weeks ago, Addison lost her first tooth. She has been wishing and praying for the day that she would have a lose tooth and be able to take it out for the tooth fairy to visit. She was over the moon excited when I saw her and lunch time and she shared that her tooth was wiggly. By the end of the day it was extremely lose, bleeding a little bit, and her teacher informed me that she had not left it alone all day. She was determined that it would come out that night, even though we told her it would be okay to go to sleep and let it fall out on its own. She wiggled and wiggled, attempted to pull on her own with no luck. She eventually let mommy help her and we got it out on the first try. As you can tell in the photos there were some tears, which were more from the fear of the unknown than pain. She was soo excited when it came out, did not care about the blood or the events that happened just before that. She quickly put it in her treasure box and then her tooth pillow and placed it on her night stand for the tooth fairy to visit. The tooth fairy was very generous for a first time tooth: certificate, letter, $5, and a new palace pet. She ended her weekend of excitement with the man from the flower department at Market Street giving her a bouquet of flowers for free. Just tonight we noticed that the new "grown up" tooth is coming in and her "fake" tooth is now wiggly. The fun continues!!

Valentines Day

We always have so much fun coming with great gifts and treats for Valentines Day. This year we made strawberry wafers with white chocolate and sprinkles and some smores mix with teddy grahams, marshmellows, and m&ms for classroom treats. For the kids, Addison's valentine was "Won't chew be my valentine?" with a gumball machine on the inside of the bag with 3 big gumballs. Avett's valentine was "Happy Valentine's, Buddy! Love, Your Main Squeeze" with applesauce squeezers. For both of the kids teachers we went to Krispy Kreme and bought 1 dozen valentines donuts to put in our donut boxes that say, "I'm donuts over you". I was able to head over to Addison's Valentines party for a while. They played a couple rounds of bingo and then enjoyed some yummy treats and opened their Valentines. Thomas went over to Avett's party where he was obviously enjoying his cupcake!
We had a fun Valentine's dinner at home with fresh strawberry cake and a gift exchange from each other. We loved it and we had a great time!
