Holiday Happening

Last weekend, while Daddy was in Boston, I thought it would be fun to do something fun for the kids to do especially with Mommy. Holiday Happening, hosted by The Junior League of Lubbock, is a great big shopping exhibit to get you geared up for Christmas. It is held all week long and on Saturday they do a special Breakfast with Santa before the shopping begins. We were able to come and eat a Chick-fil-a biscuit with juice, listen to the West Texas Childrens Choir sing carols, say hi and hug Santa, listen to a story told by Mrs. Claus, and write Santa a letter that would be mailed to the North Pole. I was a little worried about taking Addison because she was still feeling a little under the weather, but I think it was all worth it. Avett was thrilled with Santa and gave him a great big smile when Santa came and shook his hand and Addison was eager to get up and give him big High Fives! The story was so cute and Addison was right up in the front to hear all about Santa and eating too many cookies. Mrs. Claus gave everyone a rule of only 2 cookies this year on Christmas Eve...one for each hand. We are now sticking to this rule and it will be enforced by Addison. In Addison's letter she asked for a stuffed animal cat, from Build-a-Bear. Santa will be sending Mommy and Daddy some money to take Addison and Avett there in Houston. Afterwards, we did some walking and shopping, which they both were awesome! No issues what-so-ever. As we were leaving, we were also able to see Santa's reindeer. They were beautiful! What a great treat for my two sweet kids and for Nana and I to see the joy in their eyes as they get so excited for the Holidays!

We are on a roll!

Starting last week, November 8, 2012, Avett officially rolled over! We are excited, but at the same time now very cautious as to where we leave him. He is doing it now non-stop. The arm still gets stuck, but within a couple of seconds he gets it out from under him and he is good to go. He is only going from back to tummy at this point, but I am sure the next step will follow soon. He is definitely moving and grooving and we are very quickly to the next milestone of sitting by himself!

Trick or Treat

Our Halloween night was spooky and fun! We had our dinner of spooky foods that Addison took very literally and we had to pull her off the ledge later in the night and share that it was all just pretend. She did have fun during the meal time though and tried everything and thought that it all tasted quite delicious. Thomas and I joined in on the costumes..though not very inventive...and went over to Mom's neighborhood to do some trick or treating. We had a great night with lots of fun..some tears for bed..and too much candy!

Tosha's Shower

It has taken me awhile to catch up on all of my pictures and blogs that I need to do, but I need to make sure to share this fun even that we had! Tosha's Shower. We had so much fun throwing this "Little Man" Shower. Moustaches and Bowties were the decor and it turned out so cute! We had a great space, lots of girls helping out, and great friends and family that came to come and give their love and well wishes to Tosha, Justin, the boys, and our sweet nephew Kendrick! Tosha looked beautiful and she got so many wonderful things to help them along the way as Kendrick grows. Fun times and I am so thankful to have been apart of it!

Safe Treat

We headed over to Tech on Monday night for their annual Safe Treat. This is a great opportunity for kids to go trick or treating in a safe and fun environment...the dorms. The Tech dorms open up so that the public can go in and trick or treat with the college students! The kids had a blast..and yes I mean Avett did too!! Addison loved getting candy and talking to the "big kids" and Avett was kicking like crazy, talking up a storm, and loved all the sites and sounds of the dorm! Such a fun thing that we love doing every year.
