The Prayer

Addison shared a prayer that she is learning in Chapel. I do not think that this is the entire prayer, but I was tickled when I heard her saying it.

Pumpkin Trail

On Saturday night, we headed over to the Arboretum for the Lubbock annual Pumpkin Train. The park was decorated with over 1500 Jack-o-lanterns of all different carvings from various companies and organizations in Lubbock. It was great to see all of the intricate designs and displays that people have come up with. Addison really enjoyed spotting out things that she knew and really really like getting a glow in the dark bracelet:-). We really enjoyed ourselves and got us geared up and ready for Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

The last day of our weekend last week was spent at The Maize in Shallowater. We attempted the corn maze but it started getting very hot, so we decided to quit and get on the hayride. When we got out to the pumpkin patch, Addy was on a mission to find a "golden" pumpkin. She found the perfect one for her and was ready to head off. She was getting pretty grumpy since she was hot and thirsty. We quickly let her ride on the cow train and we were off to get some water and get in the cool car. Overall it was fun, but it seems every year we go there is something that stops us from having a super great time. Oh well, we shall try again next year!

Texas Tech vs. K-State

This weekend was a special Texas Tech weekend. It was homecoming for Tech and Nana and Poppa were here to be a part of the fun! The extra good part of this weekend was that Texas Tech was playing Kansas State. We got to take them to the parade on Saturday morning, look at all of the greek signs and visit Soapsuds. Saturday night was a great night for a football game. Addison had a wonderful time, Thomas and I loved being back in the Tech atmosphere, and although we lost it was fun to be there with my parents in great seats watching a great game. Loved, loved, loved it! I think season tickets might be in our future again!

Grandparents Day

This last Friday was a special school day for Addison. They celebrated Grandparents Day. Nana, Poppa, and Mia were able to come and be a part of this day. They were able to attend a special Chapel service, visit with Addison's teacher and see her classroom, and have a lunch from the Honey Ham Co. Addison then got to go home early with them and take a nap at home, with Mia putting her to sleep. I am so thankful that Addison has such amazing grandparents that are willing to come to these little events that she has and show her how much they love her and they are there for her. Thank you so much for all that you all do for us and for our sweet girl! It means the world to us!

1st Dance Viewing

At the Dance Gallery, that Addison goes to dance at on Tuesday evenings, they allow parents to come in and view the 1st week of every month. This was the first time to watch her and I was so pleased with what they were doing. This first month, they have done a lot of bonding with the girls, imitating activities, and small beginner steps to do with their tap and ballet shoes. As they show their able to follow directions in the class, can follow the teachers, and match their moves, they will start adding more dancing into the classes. They have got the idea down perfectly on how to teach 3 and 4 year olds. I cannot wait to see the next months class and what they will be adding. As you can tell, Addison is eating it up that I am in there watching her and being a silly goose, if only you could see me through the mirror giving her the eye to "do her job".
In this video, Addison starts out with a song that I used to have playing in my dance class, and would use in my tumbling class that my brother and I were in.

PS. Addison already has the date for her recital-June 2. Let us know if you would like to attend!

This week Addison's school start their celebration of family. They started with St. Francis day, which is the celebration of pets and animals. They were asked to send photos of their pets so that they could have a blessing during chapel. They then asked the students to bring a poster that showed their family. Addison had to get up in front of her friends and share the pictures with her friends and talk about who each person is in the pictures. Later this week, they are going to have grandparents day. Addison will have Nana, Poppa, Mia, and hopefully Pop to join her for a special chapel service and lunch with them. Lot's of fun activities for sweet girl to enjoy and be involved in.

Grace's 1st Birthday

This last weekend, we had the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of a sweet 1 year old, Grace. We loved getting to see how big she has gotten and her new accomplishments, including walking! We all enjoyed spending time with her and Trinity and Diana.
