Carving the pumpkin

We had fun carving our pumpkin the Sunday before Halloween. As you can tell, both of our children were not fans with the "guts" of the pumpkin. LOL, it was quite funny seeing my daughter so upset about the pumpkin goo. She was definitely not a happy camper. In the end she had fun seeing what the pumpkin turned out to be, but she would rather just skip all other steps. Avett enjoyed watching for about 5 minutes and his short little attention span told mommy that it was time to pick him up. Once being held, he looked around more and watched the rest of the pumpkin fun.

All Saints Halloween Fun!

Addison had a blast at her All Saints events for Halloween. She started off with a very low key and quiet Halloween party. I was able to go and spend some mommy/Addison time with her and it was such a wonderful time. She was able to go to my school for a little bit after the party, which I think was more exciting for her than anything else that day. Before heading off we had to indulge in our yummy jack o lantern pizza from Papa Murpheys, soo good! The Fall Festival, as usual, was a blast! Addison had her hair spray painted, face painted, horse back riding, candy, smores, lots of screaming to say hi to friends! Avett was low key, snuggling to keep warm, watching all the people, and just being a great baby. Couldn't have been any better!

Pumpkin Trail

Last week, while Thomas was in class, Mom and I took the kids to go to the Arboretum to visit the annual pumpkin trail. As usual, Avett was sleeping most of the time, but woke at the end to take quick picture and head back home! Addison loved to see all the Disney characters that were carved in the pumpkins and got a real kick out of the gory/scary pumpkins. We were sad that many of the pumpkins had already begun to cave in, but it was still a good activity for us to do on a "do nothing" Thursday night.

Pumpkin Patch

The weekend of homecoming we also go the chance to enjoy the pumpkin patch. This was the second year that we have been able to go with mom and dad. It was a lot of fun, wind and all! Animals, horse ride, cow train, hayride, pumpkin picking, and pictures were all a part of the good times! Avett slept up until we got on the hayride and then the bumps and shakes woke him up, so I am glad he was able to experience some of the family fun!

Home Coming 2012

Last weekend we got up early and headed over to the Texas Tech Homecoming Parade! As usual, we had a wonderful time! Both Addison and Avett loved it. Addison had her guns up and catching candy the whole of the parade and Avett..he was the biggest hit of the parade for all that were in the parade. He had his cute little owl hat on and everyone walking by him just ooed and aahed at him. He was wide eyed and kicking like crazy with the music, colorful floats, and people walking by. SO fun!! We are just really enjoying being able to do our yearly events with Avett and know that has years come along things are going to get much more exciting and fulfilling!

Grandparents Day

This last Friday, Addison had her annual Grandparents Day at All Saints! It is such a great opportunity for Grandparents to come and spend some one on one time with their grandkids and see how great they are doing in school and for the grand kids to show off what they have been doing. Nana and Poppa, along with Avett, were able to come and attend this year's Grandparents Day. They attended chapel in the morning, followed by lunch and a touring of the kids classrooms. I think Addison was in heaven! They all had a great time! We were very sad that Mia and Pop couldn't make it, but I wanted to end the photos with a way to show that they still had a great Grandparents moment that same week! They did a face time with Addison and Avett and the photo at the bottom shows the sweet grand kids chatting with their grandparents. Love it! Thank you so much to our wonderful parents for being such extraordinary grandparents to our 2 sweet babies!
