Pumpkin Trail

Last week, while Thomas was in class, Mom and I took the kids to go to the Arboretum to visit the annual pumpkin trail. As usual, Avett was sleeping most of the time, but woke at the end to take quick picture and head back home! Addison loved to see all the Disney characters that were carved in the pumpkins and got a real kick out of the gory/scary pumpkins. We were sad that many of the pumpkins had already begun to cave in, but it was still a good activity for us to do on a "do nothing" Thursday night.

Pumpkin Patch

The weekend of homecoming we also go the chance to enjoy the pumpkin patch. This was the second year that we have been able to go with mom and dad. It was a lot of fun, wind and all! Animals, horse ride, cow train, hayride, pumpkin picking, and pictures were all a part of the good times! Avett slept up until we got on the hayride and then the bumps and shakes woke him up, so I am glad he was able to experience some of the family fun!

Home Coming 2012

Last weekend we got up early and headed over to the Texas Tech Homecoming Parade! As usual, we had a wonderful time! Both Addison and Avett loved it. Addison had her guns up and catching candy the whole of the parade and Avett..he was the biggest hit of the parade for all that were in the parade. He had his cute little owl hat on and everyone walking by him just ooed and aahed at him. He was wide eyed and kicking like crazy with the music, colorful floats, and people walking by. SO fun!! We are just really enjoying being able to do our yearly events with Avett and know that has years come along things are going to get much more exciting and fulfilling!

Grandparents Day

This last Friday, Addison had her annual Grandparents Day at All Saints! It is such a great opportunity for Grandparents to come and spend some one on one time with their grandkids and see how great they are doing in school and for the grand kids to show off what they have been doing. Nana and Poppa, along with Avett, were able to come and attend this year's Grandparents Day. They attended chapel in the morning, followed by lunch and a touring of the kids classrooms. I think Addison was in heaven! They all had a great time! We were very sad that Mia and Pop couldn't make it, but I wanted to end the photos with a way to show that they still had a great Grandparents moment that same week! They did a face time with Addison and Avett and the photo at the bottom shows the sweet grand kids chatting with their grandparents. Love it! Thank you so much to our wonderful parents for being such extraordinary grandparents to our 2 sweet babies!

South Plains Fair

A couple of weekends ago, we were able to take Addison and Avett to the South Plains Fair. Addison was our little dare devil, riding the faster kiddie rides and wanting more and more! I think this girl is going to be a lover of roller coasters, for sure! We also enjoyed looking at all the animals. It was a great day for Avett to go out to the fair since the weather wasn't too hot or cold. He slept the whole time we were there until we got to eating our food. We were able to find a nice shaded picnic table where we enjoyed corn dogs, twisted taters, roasted corn, pie, bbq sandwich, and strawberry lemonade! Yummy! Fun times for the Reynolds..and Nana!

2 months

I know that this is very late!! On the 28th of September, Avett turned 2 months old!! We can't not believe how quickly he is growing and we feel like we just do not have the time to watch him grow the way we would like to.  We are, though, fully enjoying our life of a family of 4.  It has been so amazing to watch Avett and Addison interacting together, to go and do small little family outings as a family, and to feel so complete with our family! Here are some stats on our boy for the month:
~ He is now weighing in at 13 lbs 10 oz. and is 24 inches long.  Both of these are in the 50-75 percentile.  Not too big and not too small! We have moved to 3 months clothing, but are slowly pulling from the 3-6 month section, as well.
~ He is sleeping up to 4-5 am. He has been sleeping in his bassinet still, but the weekend he turned 2 months we transitioned him into his crib.  He is still getting used to a more open space of the crib and his loose arms are waking him up more in the middle of the night. So, some nights we have a our full night of sleep until his normal wake up time, or we wake up around 1 or 2 and need to be repositioned.
~ He is cooing and smiling, ALOT! He has been very alert and loves to have anyone sit and talk with him. Kisses. also, are always a good starter for a big smile! He is able to track a person or toy with his eyes.
~ He has shown that he is very strong in his leg and head muscles.  He enjoys to stand and look around and will hold his head up for very long amounts of time.
~ He is still eating very well, but has calmed down quite a bit..helping me in the process! Mom gives him bottles during the day and he is taking the bottle with no problems. He does enjoy sucking on his hand when hungry and we are really trying to move away from that...even trying the paci, which I did not want to use, but he is not really interested in that.  Therefore, it is just a "catch me if you can" game with his hand. We try to quickly move his hand away whenever we are watching him and take care of the "stiuation" if at all possible.
~ We had some major skin problems on his face and head this month with alot of baby acne and irritation from lotions, perfume, and especially Thomas' aftershave. His face has completely cleared up and baby soft again after multiple face washing throughout the day, natural anti-allergen lotion, and no body products worn from the adults.
